Newcastle Universities Robinson Library
Built in 1963, Newcastle University's Robinson Library is the main campus library, containing three floors of books, journals, CDs and other resources. The library has recently undergone a major refurbishment involving most internal fittings including the outdated lighting.
Aether lighting provided the solution, with bespoke suspended Sintra fittings that provide a pleasant illumination for the library users, while also saving the Robinson Library money on energy costs.
Peter Sanderson, Senior Building Services Engineer at Newcastle University: "Aether Lighting's luminaires will save us 30% on energy costs due to the efficiency of each fitting and the excellent light distribution they provide. Aether has provided a product that has been tailored to the exact designs of the library, and as a result the overall lighting in the library has been greatly improved in every respect."
