We have an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre, talented Sales Director to join us and really make their mark in delivering sustainable, value-added growth.

Designplan sits within Fagerhult’s Infrastructure cluster alongside i-Valo and Veko Lightsystems. We design and manufacture speciality lighting solutions for critical applications in rail, custodial, secure healthcare, social housing and robust urban lighting. Complex, technically specified products are sold through multiple channels, predominantly specifiers and end users into high profile projects in the UK, with growing export revenues from Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

The Designplan Sales Director will lead a sales & marketing team of c.15 people in the UK to further evolve and deliver an ambitious sales strategy to reach c.£30m annual revenue in 3-5 years. This will encompass spearheading profitable growth in the UK and internationally, leveraging Designplan’s market leadership, application segment focus, the broader group knowhow and an exciting developing controls and connectivity capability. He/she will also work closely with the sister cluster companies, building collaborative relationships to agree, lead and deliver individual sales strategies in the UK.

We are looking for a proven Sales Director with strong commercial experience and a track record of achieving value-added revenue growth in the UK. The succesful candidate will have sold branded, technically-specified products with a strong emphasis on B2B and specifier solution sales into critical infrastructure and/or the built environment, encompassing an understanding of electrical installation. Experience of working with international sister companies and/or direct/indirect customer sales experience in Northern Europe, the Middle East or Australia would be helpful.

Passionate, committed and results-orientated, the successful candidate will evidence the ability to hunt and close new market opportunities, understanding market trends and customer needs and create and protect specifications through the project phase. Hands on in leading and supporting this through the team, he/she will further evolve a high performing, open, collaborative and solutions-orientated sales and broader team culture, in line with Fagerhult’s group values.

Excellent communication and well-honed interpersonal skills. Will be able to collaborate with other senior managers in the group to leverage the platform, market knowledge and potential synergies. Will be able to influence and persuade effectively across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building trust at all levels. Future development opportunities across the group for high performing individuals.
