Designplan Lighting is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fagerhult Group, one of Europe’s leading lighting companies. With our head office and manufacturing operations based in Sutton, Surrey, Designplan is recognized as an industry leader specializing in the design, manufacture and supply of robust, highly efficient lighting products. We design for applications that require luminaires which are robustly constructed, reliable and are easy to install and maintain. Our market sectors include Transport, Custodial, Secure Healthcare and Community and Public.
Sustainability is high on our agenda. Our purpose-built manufacturing facility has a low carbon footprint, state of the art building services and on-site renewable energy generation, resulting in a BREEAM Excellent accreditation.

The Recruitment Process
If you are interested in any of our open roles we think it’s important that all candidates see our facility. During the interview process, we’ll invite you in at least once to meet some of the team, see our facility and have a tour of our factory. You must be eligible to work in the UK as we do not provide sponsorship.

Join Our Team
We are regularly looking for new talent to join our team – whether you are just starting out in your career or have work experience. We carry out varied manufacturing duties on the shop floor such as sheet metal work (cutting, folding, punching and welding), assembly work, warehousing and despatch. We also have support roles in the office.
We offer on-the-job training and would love to speak to enthusiastic and reliable workers, who show initiative and are willing to take responsibility. If you are a quick learner, with a keen eye for detail then do ask us about opportunities at Designplan Lighting.
As well as providing a modern and environmentally friendly workplace, we offer 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays, employer pension contributions, on-site parking and covered bicycle parking. Hours are 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with the possibility to work overtime.
