At 34m below ground at platform level, Liverpool Street Elizabeth line station is the deepest among all central London stations. We designed a 1.5 metre wide by 1 metre high platform edge lightbox specially for several Elizabeth Line stations, including Liverpool Street. As part of this process we had to develop a way of transporting these lightboxes in such a way that would help them be lowered down into the station to help ensure effective installation. Our light fittings were specified as they are robustly constructed, long lasting, energy efficient and designed in accordance with the fire precautions for subsurface rail stations (S1085).
